I'm not sure when the USA became the team that did not have to outwork the other team. Watching this match I felt like the USA was just lightly jogging around for 90+ mins, expecting Honduras to let us play around like it was a passing drill (aside from Jermaine Jones). Instead the USA got under pressure and were booming the ball out of their own half all the time. It looked like Stoke City on slo mo. Sometimes it was "just get it out of here" but more often than not, the long ball was the choice among options. Central American teams are going to be better on the ball than the USA are, no matter how pumped we get about a few good players in Europe. And that showed. The back line looked out of sync and oddly switched off at times. Paging Mr. Bocanegra. Dempsey continues to do his best Berbatov impersonation, sauntering slowly around the field, waiting for a moment of brilliance. Might as well have a cigarette in his mouth. I don't think the Starting XI was all that awful, and I like the formation. No execution by the players, though. And the subs by JKlins were poor and poorly timed. Agree with ASN that not holding that 3rd sub to bring on a forward late if needed, really hurt.
