Jones is not a CB (can we please end that experiment?). Birnbaum made a positive start to his MNT career. Yedlin is a great fit to this system. Until he gets his head right, Shea isn't a great fit to any system. Dempsey showed his age. Wood looked lost. Based on past experience, I didn't mind seeing him on the team to find out if he had added the finishing he was lacking. But he never should have started. And it looks like rather than improving, he has regressed. JK made some odd decisions. Wood should never have started. Instead, Dempsey should have been up top with Altidore and Nguyen should have been given the start to see if he could carry over his performance from Colombia and MLS. Switching to a formation where Shea is a LB was suicidal. And there is no reason to start Rimando. He is what he is (#2 with no chance of supplanting #1), while Johnson has a chance to be your future #1.
