Hall is a far more consistent keeper than either Johnson or Hamid and should Howard, Guzan or Rimando go down, Hall would be a capable number three. Would have liked to see Steve Clark get a call-up, but, oh well. Besler and Gonzalez have to be the center-back pairing because one of them, if John Anthony Brooks isn't there, has to be the back-up center-back for Boca or Cameron. I know DeLaGarza is a traditional center-back, but he has played out wide plenty in his career. I think Corey Ashe, Kofi Sarkodie and Sean Franklin would have been better call-ups for outside-back, but, again, oh well. I left Zusi off at the wing because we know what he can do and Gatt and Bedoya need a solid look. Morales holds in the midfield while Mix pushes forward. Obviously, if either Edu or Jones is a late call-up to camp, they slot in for Morales. I also would have started Dax McCarty or Conor O'Brien as the holding midfielder had they been called in. I'd like to see EJ get a look up top as he played on the wing in each of the U.S.' last two qualifiers. Cheers.
