I think a lot of people are talking about this lineup. It does make a lot of sense for a few reasons. 1) It puts the best 11 soccer players on the field. I'm actually a big fan of this notion. I know some think it's not about the best 11 it's about the best team. Well, to that I say, "I'm want the guys most capable of connecting on passes to each other." 2) It allows for the creativity of Zusi and the defense of Bedoya. The team desperately needs Zusi's crossing and corner ability. He's the best service-man on the team. It's not a coincidence that so many of the team's goals in qualifying, friendlies, and one in WC start on the foot of Zusi. But Bedoya is important to. He runs tirelessly, and can help in defense on the left side against Ronaldo. I would prefer Zusi on the right, but Bedoya needs to be on the side Ronaldo is on. 3) A 4-2-3-1 provides the right balance that can allow Bradley to feel comfortable getting forward by giving it to the wings. Bradley's first instinct should be 'get it wide.' His second should be 'turn and find space.'
