Joahnnsson, Shea, and Diskerud all deserve to start.
Klinsmann's comments suggest that Johannsson and Altidore will probably start against Austria. And quite frankly you can't leave Johannsson out of the starting 11 anymore. Personally, I think his best position is as a withdrawn FWD. A position he could take from Deuce, and a position I see as his own going into the 2018 WC cycle.
Lichaj gets the start because Alaba who plays LW for Austria will tear up Evans. Lichaj has the pace to help contain Alaba.
Would like to see the Brooks/Cameron paring again. Gonzo didn't really put a foot wrong against Scotland, and his spot IMO for the WC roster is secure. Plus I think all USMNT fans would like to see Brooks again.
Time to see if Shea is indeed getting back to his best. Give him the start.
Time is running out in finding maybe a better partner for MB90. Diskerud is slightly more attack minded, but Bradley enjoys being a more defense minded CM. Bradley will still be able to pick his moments to come forward, but I think Diskerud's attacking abilities may just be a better fit for Bradley's skill set.
Also Johannsson, Diskerud, and Shea I thought connected really well on the field in the second half, and Diskerud does play as more of a CM for his club team contrary to what others have said; he does not play as a straight up CAM for his club team.
