Well, obviously I'm insane. But a great coach once told me, "If you can win young, win young. If you can't, than win old. If you aren't going to win, then lose young. The one thing you can't do and that will take you backwards is lose old." Right now the USMNT is mediocre and old, and as far as I'm concerned the last two WCQs were us "losing old." I have great respect for our veterans but it's time to stop pulling players out of the nostalgia file and giving them starts. There are pundits wondering if **Jermaine Jones** should now get another callup to the team. I know we had some youth in the recent lineups; Pulisic. Wood. Arriola got in. And so on. But...Altidore? Dempsey? Howard? Guzan? Thanks for everything, guys, but...we gotta move on. Michael Bradley? You're on notice too, man. I'm gonna say what people don't want to admit, which is that MB -- and really, I love the guy -- has been on steady decline since leaving Roma except for a RARE occasional nice game. I'd get Carter-Vickers in a CB spot as soon as we can trust him, and I'd put Brooks in as soon as he's healthy. If you want to put Bradley, Dempsey, etc, on the pine in case we need them for some reason, fine, give them a couple of spots. But...let's be honest. Are we going to win THIS World Cup, assuming we qualify? No. So why keep playing players who aren't going to be around for the 2022 WC? Why not get the young guys ready and lets' get some LIFE into this team? Thanks for reading.
