Wood spearheads the attack, as his physicality and run timing have been effective in CONCACAF play. FJ plays his club position on the left wing, where his quick runs and capable defensive tracking can be best used. Lletget gets some young blood in this lineup, and his creativity will be a welcome change on the right wing. McCarty anchors the midfield trio, playing in a deep-lying position and shielding the back line. He's not an ideal 6, but he reads the game well and can tackle neatly. Nagbe and Bradley can roam box-to-box. Bradley's vision and long passing will link play with the front three, while Nagbe's ability to shuttle the ball through the middle third and open up space will keep the midfield from clogging up too much. Ream is a solid, defensive-minded LB in probably the weakest position in the pool. Miazga has been great for club and youth squads this year, and he deserves a look over Brooks, Besler, etc. Cameron is far and away our best CB. Yedlin's pace will be dangerous down the flank, and playing alongside Cameron and behind Bradley provides him some defensive cover, though his defensive isn't nearly as awful as people suggest. Howard over Guzan because Guzan has looked atrocious lately and Howard has merely been sub-par.
