Switch to a 4-2-3-1 from the recently-favoured diamond 4-4-2. Diskerud provides passing and composure in a shuttling role, takes some of the creative passing burden off of Bradley, and improves the USMNT's ability to play out of the back without turning the ball over against pressure. Beasley relieves Chandler and slides Johnson to RB, where he seems more comfortable, especially in attack. Ream and Gonzalez replace the disappointing Alvarado and suspended Brooks. Bedoya and especially Zardes push forward when the USMNT has the ball.
