A return to the flat and narrow empty-bucketish 4-4-2 would be a reversion for a side that just played its best game on offense. And it would be a reversion against a team that just annihilated a 4-4-2 in Sweden two rounds ago. I don't think the US does that. The job of a manager is to play the 11 that helps you win now-- and this is that combination. Further, it leaves three great options to change the game off the bench: Wambach, Press and of course Tobin Heath.
