The San Jose Earthquakes forward most definitely has the upper hand on that dummy when it comes to getting on a plane to Brazil. Plus, Las Vegas, Bedoya, and some dude named Barbir.

  • The New York Times gives Chris Wondolowski some grey-tinged love. So did Klinsmann: “He doesn’t have to change anything. Every time he’s in, he gives everything he has. He gives 1,000 percent. He has built his own case, and built it stronger and stronger. He’s determined. You give him a 1 percent chance, and he wants to make it 100 percent by the end of the day. He will be one of the drivers in camp.” So many percentages.

  • Alejandro Bedoya is ready for the World Cup: “It’s been a lot of ups and downs these four years. But I always kept my head up and I was always confident in my own abilities. I never took anything for granted. I’ve kind of reestablished my career back in good form and back at the top.”

  • Las Vegas could be getting an MLS team, if the plans to build a 24,000-seat soccer specific stadium are any indication. “We recently met with Justin Findlay and Blake Cordish at the MLS League office in New York and were very impressed with their vision to pursue building a new soccer stadium and acquiring an MLS expansion club for Las Vegas,” MLS Deputy Commissioner and President Mark Abbott said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing discussions as they work to further develop their plans with Mayor Goodman and the City of Las Vegas.”
  • A story in three tweets:
  • Oh hey there, would you like to read the most uplifting story ever?

  • U-17 center back Daniel Barbir signs with West Bromwich Albion. Manchester City, Everton, Chievo Verona, and a few other clubs courted the 6-foot 3 defender who "is fully capable of hitting a pass over 50 yards with remarkable precision for a player of his age."

  • The first line of this Ad Age story tells you all you need to know: "Here comes the invasion of the soccer endorsers on Madison Avenue."
