Will Michael Bradley and Clint Dempsey Be Missed?

Sometimes you just need to ask a question and get out of the way. That's what ASN Contributing Editor Jon Arnold did here, addressing the absence of two key members of the U.S. national team.

What's it like not having Michael Bradley and/or Clint Dempsey in camp?

Sacha Kljestan: It's different. Since I've joined the national team in 2007 or something like that, Michael and Clint have been here almost every time I've been in, so when you miss guys like that the quality leaves the team a little bit. I think we have a lot of guys who want to step in and want to be ready to fill that role right now, but let's not kid ourselves. They're two of the most talented players we have, and we're going to need them in Brazil.

Alejandro Bedoya: They're two integral parts of the team, key figures. I think, hopefully, during these two games we can show the depth that the team has. Obviously, they're very important players for us, but I think this is also a good chance for other players to step up.

Mix Diskerud: Well, (Bradley is) kind of a general, you learn a lot from him. He's a great player, so I enjoy playing with him, playing against him. So of course it's different when you're missing a player like that, but we can adapt.

Graham Zusi: Those guys are some of the core guys on the team and when you don’t have them it’s never a good thing, I guess. It doesn’t (change what I do). I need to focus on my game and what I bring to the team. That’s all you can do. You can’t think about who’s out and who’s in. You just take it as it comes. You deal with what you have.

Jurgen Klinsmann: Obviously a team relies a lot on its leaders, like I explained several times that the spine of this team is Tim in goal and it's a Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones in midfield, and it's a Clint Dempsey, Landon and Jozy Altidore up front. It's a very, very important spine that we have.

What do you think? Will the Yanks be able to overcome the absence of these key players? Share your thoughts below.
