The American team defeated Guatemala 3-1 in the final match of the semifinal round of qualification. With the victory, the Stars and Stripes advance to the Hexagonal round World Cup qualifying.

Thanks to Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, Herculez Gomez, and the rest of the Stars and Stripes, the United States national team is through to the final round of 2014 CONCACAF qualification.
