THE UNITED STATES NATIONAL TEAM will kick off its new cycle with a pair of friendlies in the September/October international window, which are combined this year. Just a day after announcing that head coach Mauricio Pochettino would return on a new four-year contract, U.S. Soccer has announced its first slate of games.

The dates are as follows

• United States vs. Peru, September 26 in Orlando, FL
• United States vs. Chile, September 29 in St. Louis, MO
• United States vs. Mexico, October 3 in Glendale, AZ
• United States vs. Canada, October 6 in St. Paul, MN

The games are designed to be in four cities that did not host games this summer at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

U.S. Soccer is now attempting to continue to build support and enthusiasm for the team after a World Cup where the team had some successes but also a very poor performance in a 4-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16.

The U.S. team will also be preparing for the 2026-2027 CONCACAF Nations League which begin in November before the final rounds in March. Then there will be the 2027 CONCACAF Gold Cup. These tournaments will be important to the build-up of the 2028 Copa America which is not announced but the United States is widely reported to be involved.
