  • The United States women's national team takes on Ireland at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Oregon. Before watching the match (10 p.m.; Fox Soccer), vote for the squad's Athlete of the Year. If Alex Morgan doesn't win in a bigger landslide than Clint Dempsey, there's something wrong with the polls. What's the Internet version of hanging chads?

  • Bobby Wood, the once-and-maybe-still prodigy, started and went the full 90 in 1860 Muinch's 1-0 victory over Paderborn. That's great news for the 20-year-old winger who nearly ended his career after playing too hard and too hurt for the U-20 squad that tried to qualify for the World Cup in 2011.

  • Elsewhere in Europe, Brad Guzan got a shutout against Reading and Eric Lichaj went 66 solid minutes in relief. Steve Cherundolo, Jermaine Jones, Sacha Kljestan, and Oguchi Onyewu also put in workmanlike performances on Tuesday afternoon.

  • Carlos Bocanegra: Still out for six weeks. Tough break. Get better soon.

  • No Short Corners brings news of a big trade in the U.S. futsal world that includes Jamar Beasley, older brother of DaMarcus. So many things to unpack here. We'll just let it alone.
