FC Dallas 2014 Preview: The Next Generation Is Here

OSCAR PAREJA LEFT what seemed like a great job as Colorado Rapids head coach this off-season to take over FC Dallas. And while Dallas crashed and burned so badly in 2013 that Schellas Hyndman threw in the towel, a lively roster suggests Pareja knows what he's doing. The youthful, international DP trio of Fabian Castillo, Mauro Diaz, and David Texeira should provide plenty of service for Blas Perez, but the FC Dallas roster isn't all about foreign talent.

In this ASN / TSS podcast, Daryl Grove calls up FC Dallas beat writer Matt Barbour, who highlights two American FCD players to watch in 2014. Twenty-three-year-old central defender Matt Hedges will shoulder plenty of responsibility early in the season while George John recovers from injury, and Barbour sees U.S. national team caps in Hedges' future. But the youngster to watch is 18-year-old Texan Kellyn Acosta, a Home Grown Player with a future in holding midfield (but a 2014 most likely to be spent playing fullback). Listen below to find out more.
