Berhalter names his first USMNT roster for upcoming January camp

NEW YORK – United States national team head coach Gregg Berhalter on Thursday announced the roster for the upcoming January Camp next month subsequent friendlies against Panama on January 27 in Glendale, Arizona and Costa Rica on February 2 in San Jose, California.

As is typical, the roster consists entirely of domestic-based players given that this camp does not take place on FIFA international dates and clubs are not required to release players to take part. The group will report Jan. 6 to the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, and additional player to be added prior to the start of camp.

The roster is young and has six players who are eligible for the upcoming U.S. U-23 team and one, in Mark McKenzie, who is on the current U-20 team.
