Berhalter makes cuts to trim the USMNT roster to 23

The United States national team now has its roster set for the upcoming friendlies as Gergg Berhalter made a series of cuts.

ON TUESDAY, United States national team head coach Gregg Berhalter trimmed his roster for January camp to 23 for the upcoming friendlies against Panama and Costa Rica.

The roster initially stood at 28 players. Last week Greg Garza was released back to Cincinnati due to an injury. On Tuesday, Berhalter made four cuts as Alex Bono, Tyler Miller, Justen Glad, and Kellyn Acosta were released back to their clubs

The U.S. team will face Panama on January 27 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. (8 p.m. ET; ESPN2) before concluding its annual January camp against Costa Rica on February 2 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. (3:30 p.m. ET; FOX)
