Bad News as Beitashour and Buddle Injured at Camp

The two players, shown above in happier, fitter times, will miss the remainder of the United States national team camp currently happening in sunny Southern California. That's not fun.

You knew it was going to come, but Steven Beitashour and Edson Buddle are out. The San Jose Earthquakes defender is still recovering from a sports hernia, while the Los Angeles Galaxy forward is having trouble with his right knee.

The duo will not be replaced, leaving Jurgen Klinsmann with 23 players in camp.

It's not the end of the world for either player, as both have appeared in a Klinsmann camp before. But it's still disappointing as this three-week training session presented a longer opportunity to impress the German boss.

The biggest beneficiary of the news is probably Tony Beltran, who should start the friendly against Canada on the 29th. One man's loss is another one's gain.
