  • The United States women beat Scotland for the second time in four days, winning 3-1 on goals from Megan Rapinoe, Abby Wambach, and young phenom Christen Press. The match was Wambach's 200th in an American uniform. We learned some things about some things.

  • There's a bunch of Europa League action today including Brad Friedel getting the start against Lyon. All the rest is here.

  • Omar Gonzalez got some love from the Today show. He's a charmer, that one. Todd Dunivant, not so much.

  • Alejandro Bedoya re-ups with Helsingborgs until the end of the summer. Not exactly the result he wanted, but he can increase his value if he continues to play well and then land on a bigger and better club in six months. (h/t)

  • Will an American win a Player of the Season award in a European league? Greg Seltzer thinks Jozy Altidore has a chance for AZ. The forward sits on 40 goals for the campaign, four more than Clint Dempsey's American record of 36.
