America's Mexican team, Xolos of Tijuana, and its U.S. men's national team members Edgar Castillo and Joe Corona, triumphed in Copa Libertadores last night. To the quarterfinals!

  • Castillo and Corona helped Liga MX's Xolos win an elimination game in the Copa Libertadores Tuesday night against Brazilan side Palmeiras. After a goalless draw in Tijuana to start the tie, the visitors won 2-1 to advance.

  • Big news out of Brazil. FIFA has said that Sao Paolo may lose its position as a host of World Cup games next summer if the December deadline for stadium completion isn't met. Delays and other issues have plagued the host nation throughout the preparation process. Corinthians, the club building the stadium, won't give in to FIFA's "pressure" after, it asserts, the organization's secretary general moved the deadline to February. This could get ugly.
