The U.S. women take on Mexico tonight at PPL Park in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Championship, looking to secure qualification for next summer’s Women’s World Cup. A win would qualify the team directly, while a loss would mean a spot in the third-place match. The winner of that qualifies, while the loser would have to face Ecuador in a playoff.
In the latest FIFA World Rankings, the U.S. dropped six spots to No. 23. Do what you will with that information.
Freddy Adu’s world tour may be adding yet another stop, this time in Sweden. MLSsoccer.com reports the 25-year-old could be free to leave Serbian club FK Jagodina in January and has drawn some interest from teams in Sweden’s top flight.
