- The U-23s will play in the Toulon Tournament later this month. In the group stage, they’ll play France, the Netherlands, Costa Rica and Qatar.
- In addition to Andi Herzog getting a good word from Eintracht Frankfurt’s head coach, it turns out that 18-year-old defender Sam Strong ran into Jurgen Klinsmann at the Frankfurt airport ahead of his surprise call-up to U-23 camp. “I talked to him for about 10 minutes. I didn’t want to waste too much of his time,” Strong said. “He was very interested in my feedback in the American youth system and I told him about my experience with it. He was very interested."
