  • Tim Howard doesn’t think the switch to a 4-4-2 diamond really is a particularly big deal. "I think players are more adaptable than people think," Howard said. "We've trained on it and trained on it and trained on it. It fits our personnel. We have guys who can fill two or three jobs all over the field, and that's what a diamond formation takes."

  • Brian Straus goes longform on Landon Donovan’s goal vs. Algeria. Said Jay DeMerit: “I’m getting stitches and Clinton walks in with his crew and a bunch of Budweisers. I’ve got blood everywhere and can hardly speak and there’s this full party going on around me. It was this ultimate American moment.”

  • In injury news, Clint Dempsey’s groin is ”all good” and Jurgen Klinsmann says Dempsey will ”definitely” start Sunday vs. Turkey. Meanwhile, Omar Gonzalez gave himself a clean bill of health.

  • Get to know the three stadiums the U.S. will play in during the Group Stage.

  • The team talks about their time on campus at Stanford. Timothy Chandler seems to really like driving golf carts:

  • Things haven’t been going smoothly for Germany and time is running out.

  • Aron Johannsson extended his contract with AZ through 2018.

  • With Nurnberg relegated, Chandler could make a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
