  • Juan Agudelo says Jozy Altidore advised him on his loan move to FC Utretcht. “I was just having dinner with him about a week ago trying to make my decision where to go and Utrecht seems to be the perfect spot for me,” Agudelo told RTV Utrecht. It seems like he passed his medical and is eligible to make his debut Wednesday in the Dutch Cup quarterfinals against NEC, but Sunday seems like a better bet.

  • The boys down in Brazil played another “closed-doors” scrimmage against Sao Paulo, this time winning 2-1. We’ve got no clue who scored, but here are some pictures.

  • Grant Wahl caught up with Oguchi Onyewu, who made his Sheffield Wednesday debut over the weekend. It had been more than a year since the defender had played a club match, but said that “for the last eight months, all my decisions have been World Cup-based.” The 31-year-old made two appearances last summer for the national team, which he believes “showed I can still compete on that level for sure.”

  • Could former U.S. captain Thomas Dooley be the next manager of the Philippines national team? The veteran of two World Cups will reportedly meet with the Philippine Football Federation this week in California. A new boss would be tasked with leading the team in May’s AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives, a tournament whose winner earns a spot 2015 AFC Asian Cup. Out of the eight participants in the competition, the Philippines has the highest FIFA ranking.

  • From a few days ago, but Kwadwo Asamoah told Goal Ghana that when he saw the World Cup draw he “didn’t even think about Germany and Portugal. What came into my mind was ‘these USA people again?’” Asamoah added that it’s “going to be war because they won’t sit back to lose three times to Ghana.” Here’s to hoping so.

  • Rounds 3 and 4 of the MLS SuperDraft are today (five days later?), and MLSSoccer.com has a breakdown of the best players still on the board.
