ASN Morning Read: Sacha Kljestan Stays Hot

The midfielder does some stuff in the Champions League; another American gets ready to return over in England; could Jurgen Klinsmann be moving on to bigger(?) and better(?) things?

  • Is it already time to throw in the towel on Jozy Altidore's time at Sunderland? Jeez, that seems quick, but at least one writer thinks it might be so: "Altidore's Sunderland career has started just how his Hull career began; a goal in the league cup, but no return yet in the league. It's a sure fire bet that he'll find the net eventually, but how long will it take? Is this going to be another classic example of a foreign player who simply can't cut it in England?"

  • Sacha Kljestan was busy during Anderlecht's 1-1 Champions League draw with PSG. The midfielder got an assist and two yellow cards. That's what we call filling up the stat line.

  • Danny Williams, missing from the Reading lineup since September 18 due to injury, is returning to full training. "I have to see how the sessions go this week, that I don't have too much pain. But I feel like I'm ready to go. It's the gaffer's decision but I'll tell him that I'm ready and he can trust that I will put everything in." Oh that gaffer.

  • Switzerland may want Jurgen Klinsmann as its next coach. Glad we're talking about this already.

  • The United States women are facing Brazil on November 10 and head coach Tom Sermanni named his roster. It's full of the usual stars like Sydney Leroux, Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, and Hope Solo, but also some promising youngsters including Lindsey Horan and Bayern Munich duo Amber Brooks and Erika Tymrak. With a win or tie, the U.S. will finish 2013 undefeated.
