  • Roma, led by Michael Bradley who doesn't need no stinkin' preseason, thrashed the MLS All-Stars 3-1 in Kansas City. Only Omar Gonzalez's last-second goal saved the best from the domestic league from being resoundingly shut out. But it's not a referendum on MLS; it's just a mid-season exhibition. And Sporting Kansas City played excellent host, impressive for a franchise that very nearly lost its way.

  • Graham Zusi came off with a quad strain, but he will be fine.

  • But the big news was Commissioner Don Garber's halftime announcement that he wants the league to expand to 24 teams by 2020.
