  • No one will say Stuart Holden doesn't have a sense of humor:
  • "We know Kellyn, and obviously from his potential he can play left or right back, but also as a six," Klinsmann said. "He impressed in training. He was very calm, he was very mature for his age, and that was his opportunity. It took him a few minutes but he was rewarded for these three weeks of really good work and quality."

  • Brad Evans and Michael Orozco leave the United States camp before Friday's match against Canada. Evans, who was a late addition, has a tight right hamstring.

  • "The US Under-23 national team’s Olympic fate will be decided at Toyota Stadium. US Soccer announced on Tuesday that the venue in Frisco, Texas, home of FC Dallas, will play host on March 29 to the second leg of the US U-23 team’s home-and-away playoff series against Colombia for a spot in the 2016 Olympic Games. The match is set to begin at 9:30 pm ET, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, immediately following the senior US team's World Cup qualifying match against Guatemala at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio at 7 pm ET. The first leg of the playoff is scheduled for March 25 in Barranquilla, Colombia."

  • Good news:
  • Sporting Kansas City center back Erik Palmer-Brown goes on loan to FC Porto for reasons that are not entirely clear.
