Youth is served.

The 21 names feature two players (Tyler Adams and Josh Sargent) who recently figured in the U-17 World Cup, while also including teenagers Weston McKennie and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

"The one word that I would use in reference to all of this is opportunity," Sarachan said. "It's an opportunity for many players who haven't been in the picture that we feel have a bright future with the national team to get to measure themselves in a game against a quality opponent. It's an opportunity for our national team to finish out 2017 in a positive way. It's also just an opportunity to move on. As much as we're still gutted from how things turned out with qualifying, we have to look ahead and finish out the year the right way."

Here's the full list:

Goalkeepers: Jesse Gonzalez, Bill Hamid, Ethan Horvath
Defenders: John Brooks, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Eric Lichaj, Matt Miazga, Tim Ream, Jorge Villafana, DeAndre Yedlin
Midfielders: Kellyn Acosta, Tyler Adams, Alejandro Bedoya, Lynden Gooch, Weston McKennie, Kelyn Rowe, Danny Williams
Forwards: Juan Agudelo, Dom Dwyer, C.J. Sapong, Josh Sargent

Bedoya is the most experienced player with 65 caps, followed by Yedlin's 48 and Brooks' 32.

Paul Arriola, Jordan Morris, and Bobby Wood likely would have been called in but missed out due to injury.

The future is coming.
