TERRENCE BOYD TODAY announced on Twitter that he will be out for 10 weeks due to a partially torn ACL that he suffered in RB Leipzig’s recent friendly against Queens Park Rangers.

The popular German-born American forward recently joined RB Leipzig after two successful seasons in Austria with Rapid Vienna. So far this preseason with RB Leipzig, Boyd has scored two goals.

The 23-year-old has been capped 13 times by the U.S. national team but is still searching for his first international goal. He was named to the U.S. preliminary World Cup roster but did not survive the cut when the roster was trimmed to 23.

Jurgen Klinsmann may have a difficult time assembling the forwards he needs for the September 3 friendly against the Czech Republic in Prague. Aron Johnannsson recently underwent ankle surgery and is not expected back until the end of August. With Boyd now out as well as Juan Agudelo currently without a club, Klinsmann will be left with few options.
