  • Bolton manager Dougie Freedman confirmed that Stuart Holden will be in the squad for Tuesdays’s FA Cup replay at Sunderland. “He’s a fantastic lad to have around the place and he’s been fantastic in training,” Freedman says of Holden. “He’s got one more hurdle to go–to get into the team–and he deserves it.” We can't wait until he returns to the field because then we can stop writing about when he's going to return to the field and start writing about how well he did when he was on the field.

  • Tony Beltran chronicles his first national team camp. The 25-year-old learned of the invite while eating a tuna sandwich that his mom made. That's wonderful. Everything about that is wonderful. Elsewhere, the would-be writer discusses the intimidation of fitness tests, hanging with Kyle Beckerman, and much more.

  • Ticket sales have been slow for the upcoming friendly vs. Canada, but there's still plenty of time. The last few January friendlies averaged around 17,000 fans.

  • Nottingham Forest released Robbie Findley after two injury-plagued years in England. It seems he’ll be headed back to Real Salt Lake after RSL gave the Portland Timbers $75,000 for his rights. That seems about right, doesn't it?

  • Brek Shea does reckless 22-year-old things:

  • Sepp Blatter is now concerned with how hot it’s going to be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Man, Sepp is the best, isn't he?

  • Nick Rimando gets a beer named after him. Utah's Unsacred Brewing is releasing Rimando’s Wit. The first choice name, "Yo, Nicky R Just Saved Your Butt in Goal, Again," didn't fit on the label. Weird, right?
