  • Somehow, some way, Club Tijuana pulled out a 2-0 victory over Toluca to win the Liga MX championship. Greg Garza, Joe Corona, and Edgar Castillo all played roles. Afterward, the boys celebrated with their snazzy new medals. Even Jurgen Klinsmann was pleased, although he forgot to include one of the three champions.

If you're looking for the best story you'll read about the club's rapid rise, here you go.

  • Sean Franklin thinks the LA Galaxy are the best sports team in the City of Angels. You know what? He might not be wrong. The Lakers lost again, the Dodgers are the Dodgers, the Kings are not playing, and the Angels are from Anaheim (even if they changed their name). Who else is left? Chivas USA?

  • Tim Howard does not need an understudy, thank you very much. “But I’m a firm believer that I work as hard as anyone. I don’t miss days in training, I don’t stay in the physio room too long if ever, I push myself and drive myself hard. That’s what’s important. If you want to be the best you can’t rely on other people to drive you."

  • Preston Zimmerman netted two for SV Darmstadt 98.

  • Bobby Wood scored a rather ridiculous goal, his first for TSV 1860 Munich.
