  • Benny Feilhaber is the newest member of Sporting Kansas City. The New England Revolution traded the talented midfielder for allocation money and some draft picks. “From the point of view of the way we play and who we are as a team, I think Benny fits in very, very well with that,” SKC coach Vermes said during a conference call. “Not only do I think he'll fit in well, I think he'll help to enhance some of the things that we need on the field. From that perspective as well, it's going to be very positive to our team and our organization.”

The most interesting thing about the entire ordeal? That Feilhaber still had suitors abroad. It has to be a good sign for MLS that he's choosing to stay in the domestic league, right?

  • Oh weird, Michael Bradley did something good. He helped Roma to yet another win, this time against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia.

  • Elsewhere in cup play, Eric Lichaj earned an assist as Aston Villa defeated Norwich City in the Capital One Cup. Brad Guzan watched the match from the bench, which is better than watching from the stands although still not as good as being on the field.

  • The Associated Press has a long piece on new United States women's national team coach Tom Sermanni. He, apparently, likes crossword puzzles but can't finish them on his own. Also, he didn't know who Alex Morgan was when his Australians played the U.S. a little more than a year ago. "Honestly, she wasn't really, really on my radar until we played them in September and she tore us apart," Sermanni said. "She has really just blossomed tremendously."

  • And finally, we agree completely with Maurice Edu.
