Bob Bradley Has Norway's Stabaek in Third Place

The former United States national team head coach moved from Africa to the edge of the Arctic Circle, but the change of scenery seems to be suiting him, and Stabaek, just fine.

WHEN BOB BRADLEY took on the coaching role at Stabaek in January of this year, the newly promoted club was searching for a way to revitalize its troubled past. Many supporters were skeptical of bringing in an American coach, but those naysayers have been silenced for the time being.

Through 10 games this season, Stabaek sits in third place in Norway’s Tippeligaen and the club is riding a three-game winning streak, including victories over league title contenders Stromgodset and Rosenborg.

Bradley's decision to sign American midfielder Michael Stephens is also looking better and better. The 25-year-old Stephens, formerly with the Los Angeles Galaxy, has been very productive during the three-game winning streak, producing highlight-reel assists in both the Rosenborg match...

...and the victory over Stromgodset.

We wrote about Bradley's move to Norway earlier this year, and told the story of Stabaek's big turnaround. It looks like there's a real momentum developing between the coach and the club.
