  • After conceding in the first half, the Seattle Sounders needed three goals to defeat Tigres and move on in the CONCACAF Champions League. It looked grim. But wonderstrikes from why-wasn't-he-on-the-U-20-roster DeAndre Yedlin and Djimi Traore followed by a late winner from Eddie Johnson turned the tables. The Sounders completed one of the best comebacks in the history of the competition and the Mexican side was left reeling after bringing its reserves to CenturyLink.
  • Sticking in the CCL, the Houston Dynamo take on Santos Laguna and Los Angeles battles Herediano in Wednesday night's action. Three MLS teams in the final four? That has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

  • The last American—well, at least the last American who plays for his club—is out of the Champions League as Schalke 04 fell to Galatasaray. Jermaine Jones didn't feature due to yellow card accumulation. Shocker. Oguchi Onyewu's Málaga plays Porto Wednesday afternoon.

  • The injury bug bites the U.S. women (again) as Carli Lloyd goes down for six to eight weeks after breaking a bone in her shoulder.

  • A rant about American soccer? Sure, we'll bite. InclusiveBeechwoodAging talks about his elusive search for a toddler/youth USA red and white hoops jersey for his kid's 4th birthday. The mission, which he chose to accept, turned out to be impossible.

  • Soccer Over There tracks down details from the last time the United States defeated Costa Rica, a World Cup qualifier on June 4, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
