  • Tim Howard signed a contract extension that will keep him with Everton until 2018, which manager Roberto Martinez hailed as "an incredible moment" for the club. “I cannot see past him to choose the best goalkeeper in the league," Martinez said. "You see his human values and the way affects youngsters, he's the perfect role model for our football club."
  • Jurgen Klinsmann expressed his concerns about Jozy Altidore's playing time (or lack thereof). “All that we can tell him is obviously he has all our support, (and) to make the best out of that difficult situation."

  • The U-20s take on Fluminese in the semifinals of the Dallas Cup tonight. It's streaming on TWCsportschannel.com at 8:30 p.m. ET, so you should probably watch.

  • Brian Sciaretta caught up with Paul Arriola, currently on duty at the Dallas Cup. "I still need to prove myself more on the professional level," Arriola said of a potential senior team call-up. "If I am able to do that more with my club and the U-20 national team with Tab being part of the men’s national team coaching staff now, I definitely think it’s possible in the future.”

  • If the Premier League season started on Feb. 1, Stoke City would be in fourth place. Geoff Cameron thinks that's no coincidence. "I think our form is a tribute to the way the coach has been handling us, our fitness and the way we've trained all season," Cameron said. "As some teams are declining and getting tired, we're picking it up. We're hitting our peak."
