  • Thanks in part to a Brad Davis goal, the Houston Dynamo stunned the New York Red Bulls in Harrison, New Jersey. More highlights here.
  • The Dynamo will face Sporting Kansas City, thanks to a 3-1 victory over the New England Revolution. Benny Feilhaber and Graham Zusi played huge roles, because of course they did.
  • Jurgen Klinsmann went all FDR Fireside Chat again and talked to USSoccer.com about the upcoming roster. My favorite part: "We want to see who’s really 1,000 percent dedicated to everything we do." The most relevant part: It sounds like Fabian Johnson (who is nearing a return), John Brooks, Aron Johannsson, and Terrence Boyd will all be part of the the two-game camp. Klinsmann will also go to watch Jozy Altidore this weekend.

  • Along those lines:

  • Chris Pontius, in the running for the Unluckiest Player Ever award, went under the knife again to repair his left hamstring. "He had surgery on his right hamstring late in the 2010 season. In 2011, his season was cut short by a broken leg," the Washington Post writes.
