  • Injury alert: Landon Donovan will miss Wednesday night's CONCACAF Champions League match against Isidro Metapán with a sprained ankle.

  • Anderlecht lost 2-0 to Benfica, but Sacha Kljestan played the entire match:
  • U-20 forward Alonso Hernandez dribbled a whole bunch then slipped a pass to his Monterrey teammates who scored.
  • Australia asked FIFA for compensation if FIFA moves the 2022 World Cup to the winter and FIFA was like heck no. Or, more to the point: "There is no ground for any speculations."

    Elsewhere in that piece, a classic Sepp Blatter quote: "You can cool down the stadiums but you can't cool down the whole country and you can't simply cool down the ambiance of a World Cup." What temperature is the ambiance of a World Cup, exactly?
