  • Jurgen Klinsmann wanted help and he got it, calling in Omar Gonzalez, Matt Besler, Eddie Johnson, and Alan Gordon for the remainder of the Gold Cup. The foursome takes the place of Oguchi Onyewu, Corey Ashe, Herculez Gomez, and Jack McInerney. The decision is yet another sign that the American coach wants to win this thing, as the four changes were more than the rest of the seven teams made combined. The group, except for Gonzalez, could take the field on Sunday against El Salvador in the quarterfinal. Make your Starting XI for the match here.

  • What was Gonzalez doing when he saw the news? Hanging with the stars, obvi:
  • Brek Shea is one divisive character, ain't he? Liviu Bird did a little tactical analysis and you wonderful readers responded in the comments. Keep 'em coming.

  • Carlos Bocanegra led Chivas USA to its first victory in 15 matches in his debut. He looked good.

  • Here's footage that an unmanned Brazilian drone took of Neymar's first goal in the Confederations Cup. It just happened to be flying over the stadium. Sure it did.

  • FIFA will release information about World Cup 2014 tickets on Friday. There will be a stream on FIFA.com.
