  • Coming off his first goal for Stoke City on Sunday, Geoff Cameron says he’s been encouraged to push forward more when he’s playing right back. "You are not used to seeing right-backs in that position too often, right? Hopefully it will happen more," Cameron said. "Mark Hughes wants me to push forward more and get involved and I like to come into the middle and bump it off for the forward and midfield.” Good news for the U.S. as Cameron gains more experience playing out right.

  • John Brooks’ arm injury will will keep him out two to three weeks, likely ruling him out of the final two World Cup qualifiers. If he doesn’t play in those qualifiers, he won’t have a chance to be cap-tied until the World Cup.

  • In this week’s ASN 100 update, Brad Guzan shines after another spectacular performance in goal on the weekend. Elsewhere, Eddie Johnson, Herculez Gomez and Terrence Boyd make some noise.

  • Brian Ching is expected to announce his retirement today, effective at the end of the season. "My body is telling me that it's time to call it and retire. I can't play 90 minutes at the level I want. My body hurts if I do play over 45 minutes. It doesn't just hurt a couple days after. It hurts an entire week." The 35-year-old Hawaii native scored 11 goals in 45 games with the national team between 2003 and 2010.
