ASN Morning Read: Down Goes FC Dallas

On a bad night for Major League Soccer, one of the league's best clubs gets its heart broken in the CONCACAF Champions League, while St. Louis suffers a blow in its quest for an MLS franchise.

  • Sadness:

  • Speaking of FC Dallas, Kellyn Acosta: "It's Time for Us to Make Our Marks"

  • The citizens of St. Louis vote to raise taxes but not spend the money on a stadium, which means MLS to STL is almost dead. Your key paragraph: "This means that St. Louis will have more money for a MetroLink expansion, as well as housing grants and other vital public services. Because Proposition 2 failed, none of that money will go to paying for a stadium for a group of Bain capital-associated rich guys who don’t live in St. Louis. While this doesn’t kill the possibility of MLS coming to St. Louis, it’s a pretty clear sign that St. Louis residents are not here for this bullsh*t."

  • Is Weston McKennie the next you know who? From ESPN: At this point, it seems only a matter of time before the next American youngster follows in Pulisic's footsteps. 'We all look up to him and say, 'It's possible,'" 18-year-old McKennie tells ESPN FC. "We see him do it and say, 'Why can't we do it either?'"The midfielder joined Schalke last summer, when the Bundesliga club beat MLS side FC Dallas to his signature.
