The New England Revolution forward could be headed to England when the transfer window opens up again; a familiar face could be the man who takes his spot; Tijuana ties.

  • Juan Agudelo seems to have signed a pre-contract with Stoke City. If the rumors are true, he'll join Geoff Cameron, Brek Shea, and Maurice Edu with the Potters. The New England Revolution declined to comment, citing the fact that nothing is official yet. Pre-contacts. Man, those are silly.

  • Is Charlie Davies the replacement for Agudelo? Sounds that way.

  • The Seattle Sounders match on August 25 could boast the largest, non-doubleheader MLS crowd ever. Why? Because it will be most likely be the home debut of Clint Dempsey, and it's against the hated Portland Timbers to boot. Reports have upwards of 66,000 tickets sold already. Speaking of Mr. Dempsey, he was sick on Tuesday and missed training, a setback that could limit his availibility against Toronto FC this weekend.

  • Edgar Castillo, Joe Corona, Greg Garza, and Paul Arriola all saw the field in Club Tijuana's disappointing 0-0 CONCACAF Champions League draw with LA Firpo. That's fun-ish. Can't wait to read a new round of stories about how TJ is the new club America.

  • Clint Irwin of the Colorado Rapids writes about the life of trying to make it to MLS. Good stuff: "Actual life in the minor leagues means moving back in with your parents or living in a house with more than a few teammates, working another job, taking on some coaching responsibilities, and not spending your money. Most pro athletes engage in a high-intensity, two- to three-hour workout and have the rest of the day to recover. Then they wake up and do it again. I did the three-hour workout—and then went to my desk job at noon, attempted to switch gears to normal work, then headed out at 6 p.m. to coach youth soccer. It’s asking a lot to reach optimal performance when you do this every day. For many players at that level, this is life. And if you get married and have to support a family, it’s basically time to retire."
